Yay for vent art that turned into my first speedpaint. =v=

I like the way this came out enough to ask critiques on it. Only constructive criticism, please.

Thanks for stopping by!

I thought I would wait a bit to critique this since it seemed like an emotional piece. Forgive me if my wording is not very professional sounding. Haven't done a critique in years, but here goes!

This piece has a lot of power to it! I love the emotions in this, as well as the deep blues and the texture used.

One of the major things I think this picture could use is some depth to the wings. They honestly don't look much like wings to me because of the lack of shading and the way the wings are shaped. Try to add longer feathers at the ends, and smaller feathers towards the base. See how you gave the top of the wings so much bend and movement? I think if you curved the bottom of the wings like that a bit more, it would flow better like actual wings.
(And let's be honest, giant imaginary mammal wings will never make 100% sense, but there are things we can do to trick the eye into thinking they make sense!)

I would also try to add just a bit of shading to each feather that you can see. I think that alone would even help a lot if you don't desire to redo the entire set of wings.

My only other suggestion would be to add smaller stars and scatter them between the ones you already have. It's not a mistake. I just think it would bring out the sky more. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/>

Wonderful piece Mandy! I hope those little things help you in the future! ^^
